My son and his three kids came to visit me last Thursday and they stayed until Monday morning. My nephew was getting married so the kids stayed with me for a few days. My son is really into the decluttering of his mom's house. . . it's been a while I must admit since any of the kiddo's could run and just play in my house.
My clutter has taken over and it's not pretty. While I am home alone it doesn't seem so bad but you add in three, or five or even all of my grandkids it's kaos! Of course I have a purpose for everything I have picked up, but of course no one else sees my vision or feels I have the time to begin or even finish half of them.
It was a bit of a struggle with my son during this time, I got crabby, he was accepting of the crabbiness, and a lot of my treasures made it to the back of my pickup truck. At some point I gave up the arguing thinking I'll just pull everything out when he leaves (I haven't done that) and at times total dispair thinking I'll just call the Salvation Army and have them come and clean me out!!!
There isn't much "junk" in my stash, at least to my eyes but my truck is full and ready for a trip to the dump.
My nephew's wedding was wonderful, I spent a lot of time helping my sister with set-up, food, clean up, etc. the bride was beautiful and it was a great day.
